How To Crochet A Temperature Blanket

Crochet Temperature Blanket (UPDATED)

Hello Love!

I’ve been crocheting for almost 10 years now and up until a month ago, I had never heard of a crochet temperature blanket. I saw THIS POST on Pinterest early January and I instantly fell in love.

How To Crochet A Temperature Blanket

I used the same color scheme Burgundy and Blush used and I’m so excited to see how the colors all mix together.

How To Crochet A Temperature Blanket

There are many ways to make this blanket and a quick search on Pinterest may quickly have your head spinning. When picking colors, I decided to go with 10 tones and decided to split the temperatures by 10’s as well. I do fear I won’t be using that granite color often though because the Tennessee Valley rarely has days that cold. It may end up being my border color.

How To Crochet A Temperature Blanket

I grabbed a notebook to keep track of all my temps. Like I said above, instead of crocheting a row for every day of the year, I’m doing a row for an average of two days so it isn’t a massive blanket.

How To Crochet A Temperature Blanket

Here’s the beginning of the blanket. The first few days of the year were on the warm side so it was nice to start the blanket with the light taupe color and then get into the linen and ivory colors. I’m loving the pop of the spa color for that warm blue.

Here’s a glance at the weather website I use to grab all my temperatures.

And voila! January is complete. I love how the colors look so beautiful together and I’m excited to see how the rest turns out.

February

February saw a nice warming trend where most days were in the 50s and 60s. We had a small cool snap or two but I’m glad it’s starting to pull toward the warmer colors.

KEEP CHECKING BACK!

I’ll update this post every month so be sure to stop back by to see the progress of my crochet temperature blanket! Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss a thing.

Christmas Tablescape with Coton ColorsHello Love!
Welcome to our cozy by candlelight dining room.
Christmas Tablescape with Coton ColorsOur Christmas theme this year is Cozy by Candlelight and I extended it into the dining area this year.
Christmas Tablescape with Coton ColorsMy dear friends at Coton Colors teamed up with me again this year to show you some of their fabulous Christmas tableware for this Holiday Season. You may remember that they helped me create this adorable setting last year and when I decided to move those pieces to my china cabinet, they gifted me these beautiful pieces this year.

Christmas Tablescape with Coton ColorsI stuck with the same buffalo plaid dishes that I had before but decided to accent them with the Christmas Stocking design, as it matched my table runner, chargers, and cloth napkins that I’d been using for years. The brass candlestick holders and white tapers were perfect for cozying up our December dinners.

A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party
It’s really hard to believe we’re here already…40 years of age. Even though I still have a few more months before I hit the big 4-0, it’s still hard to believe that it’s just around the corner.
A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party

My husband isn’t a huge fan of parties but I knew that we needed to make this one a little special. When I met my guy in high school, he always wore Hawaiian shirts…and they were really cool back then either. 😉 But he wore them because he LOVED Jimmy Buffett.

A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday PartyJimmy Buffett has an awesome song called “A Pirate Looks At 40” and I knew it would be the perfect theme.A Pirate Looks At 40
I jumped on Amazon and ordered some party supplies, pressed off his old Hawaiian shirts, and brought out all my older Happy Everything! plates and serve ware, along with a few new pieces and it all turned out beautifully.A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party

His cake was the cutest cake I’ve ever seen. We ordered an almond-flavored cake (his favorite) from our favorite local cake maker and she did a fantastic job making it Hawaiian style. Isn’t it the cutest?!

Are you a Coton Colors/Happy Everything lover like me? YAY! Let me show you my new wooden board and Happy Everything mini attachments.
Happy everything mini attachments
If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, they have an array of bases and you can buy attachments for every occasion. They’re great for decorating but I use mine almost daily to serve our food in a fun and colorful way.

Happy Everything offers everything from plates to vases, cookie jars, and now, wooden serving boards. Large velcro pads on the bases and attachments make changing a breeze!

Happy Everything Mini Attachments

I teamed up with Happy Everything to show you some of their newest designs and show you a couple of ideas on how to use them.

You can choose from everyday pieces, like flowers and animals to seasonal pieces, like pumpkins and Santas.
Grab your favorite base and attachment to get started! Which of these boards do you like the best? The movie time was the most fun to put together but the bee & honey board is my favorite!

What’s in my bag – Traveling Baseball Mom Edition

What’s in my bag – Traveling Baseball Mom Edition 768 1024 Jenn Pennell
Shaw Avenue | What's In My Bag, Traveling Baseball Mom Edition
Hello Love!
Baseball season is upon us and I wanted to share with you my travel bag that I take to all of my son’s games, both home and away. Instead of running back and forth to the car for things, I carry everything I need in my HUGE Austin | Fowler Brielle backpack.
Since it’s only March, it can still be pretty cool sitting at games. We carry a small fleece blanket that we can either wrap up in or sit on if the bleachers are rough. Next up, a first aid kit. While I pray that my son will never need it while playing, I honestly carry it for my other two kids. You never know when a scraped knee will happen. 😂
While we always try to support the teams by purchasing from their concession stand, we do still carry our own snacks and water too, especially if the schools are far away. Since I’m conscience about reducing waste, we have these AWESOME reusable containers from Zip Top. They “zip” closed like your normal plastic baggies but can be reused time and time again. We LOVE them.
In this backpack, you’ve got room for everything you need. I carry the kid’s iPad and accessories, masks, essential oils, and my personals like wallet and keys.
Everything we need to cheer on our #15!
