Visiting the Biltmore Estate feels like stepping into a fairy tale—rolling hills, lush gardens, and the grandest home in America. Here are my favorite tips for capturing picture-perfect moments, whether you’re visiting with your family, your bestie, or just your trusty tripod.
Golden Hour is Your Best Friend
That warm, golden glow of early morning or late afternoon transforms the entire estate into something out of Downton Abbey.
Where to go: Head to the front lawn for dreamy shots with the house in the background, or wander through the gardens where the light peeks through the treetops.
Don’t Skip the Conservatory or Walled Garden
These areas are bursting with color in spring and summer. Even in cooler months, the Conservatory’s tropical plants offer a cozy escape (and humidity = soft glowing skin in photos).
Photo tip: Use portrait mode to blur the background and let those florals POP.
Dress the Part
Your outfit doesn’t have to be fancy. Think flowy dresses, straw hats, neutral layers, or even a Ralph Lauren vibe if you’ve just scored a thrifted gem. Lean into the timelessness of the setting!

Inside the House? Go for Mood, Not Flash
Photography is allowed without flash inside the Biltmore House. It’s darker inside, so adjust your camera settings or phone brightness.
