Ingredients for the Cake

To create the ultimate Death by Chocolate Poke Cake, you will need to gather a few key ingredients. You’ll need a chocolate cake mix (plus the box ingredients to make it), chocolate pudding, milk, hot fudge, a chocolate bar, and whipped cream.

How to Make the Cake

To make the Death by Chocolate Poke Cake, start by preheating your oven to the temperature listed on the box of the chocolate cake mix. Then, follow the instructions on the box to prepare the cake batter. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for the amount of time listed on the box.

While the cake is baking, you can prepare the chocolate pudding filling. Once the cake is finished baking and has cooled for about 10 minutes, poke holes all over the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon. Be sure to space the holes out evenly across the cake.

Next, prepare the chocolate pudding mix according to the instructions on the box, but use milk instead of water. Once the pudding has thickened, pour it over the cake, making sure to fill all of the holes. Use a spatula to spread the pudding evenly across the top of the cake.
