It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. It’s almost time to get those tubs out of the attic and get our home all twinkly and cozy for the Holiday season.
This will be the first year I get to decorate the electric fireplace in our master bedroom and the plan is to keep it nice and simple. I’m thinking faux candles, beautiful greenery, and these two handmade crochet stockings.
Instead of buying them on Amazon or Hobby Lobby, I decided to make some of my own. I searched Pinterest for the perfect crochet stocking pattern and landed on THIS ONE. The striped detail was so cute and I love how it flows from our bedding duvet over to the mantel to have everything matching and flowing smoothly.
I went to my local Hobby Lobby and got everything I needed to make these adorable stockings. The Yarn Bee Effortless Super Bulky in color Biscotti was the perfect natural cream color that I was looking for. Then I grabbed a crochet hook the size the yarn suggested and crochet stitch markers to help me keep my place.
I’ve been crocheting for over 10 years and this pattern was easy to follow. However, I did have to take it apart and redo it a few times but after I turned off the tv to rid myself of any distractions, I had a much easier time. HA! I do love videos of patterns as I can follow them a lot easier than trying to read a written one. She also has those available if you prefer written over video.
Overall, I am thrilled with how they turned out. I still can’t believe that I actually made them!
