Pumpkins After Dark: Cute Ways to Illuminate Your Halloween Front Porch.
Hello Love!
Today I wanted to share with you my super cute Halloween front porch. Decorating my porch is one of my favorite things, and fixing it up for Halloween is always my favorite.
I buy new corn stalks every year but everything else has been recycled over the past few years. I painted these faux pumpkins a few years ago to give them a more natural look and the metal luminaries and buckets came from the gift shop I owned years ago. They were collecting dust in my attic, so I threw them on my porch one year and have been doing it ever since.
I use to buy real mums and other fall flowers but since it stays so warm here in Tennessee in the fall, they usually don’t last long. This year I decided to just buy faux floral stems for the metal buckets and they turned out great. You can totally tell they’re fake up close but from the road, no one will ever know.
The cornstalks are always my favorite part of the porch. They just add so much height and texture. I absolutely love them.
When it comes to lighting my porch for Halloween, I use three different types of lights.
First off, I adore these resin light-up pumpkins I’ve had for years. I’m pretty sure they came from Homegoods like 10-15 years ago and they’re still great. If I could find them again, I would buy more and line all my steps with them.
Here are some similar styles: HERE, HERE, and HERE.
Second up is fairy lights. I love the simplicity of fairy lights, don’t you? For a few bucks, you can add so much whimsy.
Lastly are my metal luminaries. They’re made to look like paper sandwich bags but these have lasted me years. I add battery-operated tea lights to them and they flicker and glow like real candles. They look so cute lining the stairway.
These particular ones are no longer available but THESE and THESE are similar!
