A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party

It's really hard to believe we're here already...40 years of age. Even though I still have a few more months before I hit the big 4-0, it's still hard to believe that it's just around the corner.

A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party
My husband isn't a huge fan of parties but I knew that we needed to make this one a little special.
A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party
When I met my guy in high school, he always wore Hawaiian shirts...and they we're really cool back then either. 😉 But he wore them because he LOVED Jimmy Buffett.

JB has an awesome song called "A Pirate Looks At 40" and I knew it would be the perfect theme.
A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party
I jumped on Amazon and ordered some party supplies, pressed off his old Hawaiian shirts, and brought out all my older Happy Everything! plates and serve ware, along with a few new pieces and it all turned out beautifully.

His cake was the cutest cake I've ever seen. We ordered an almond flavored cake (his favorite) from our favorite local cake maker and she did a fantastic job making it Hawaiian style. Isn't it the cutest?!A Pirate Looks At 40: A Jimmy Buffett Inspired Birthday Party

5 ways to cozy up your home

Tuesday, May 18, 2021

Hello Love!
Since we're all still staying home more, I thought I'd share my 5 favorite ways to cozy up my home so go grab yourself a warm cup of coffee and let's go!
First up, blankets. Now as you can see from the photo above, even the cat is a huge fan of warm, fuzzy blankets. We've got baskets full of them all around the house, just waiting for someone to grab as they walk by.
Our favorite blankets are from Barefoot Dreams but if you're on a budget, you can find some fantastic dupes like THIS ONE.

Next up, plants.
Now, if you follow me on social media, YOU KNOW I love me some plant babies. All the plant babies. They add so much earthiness and warmth to a space so we have them all over our house. I mean, ALL OVER our house...as you'll see in the rest of the pictures.

Another way to cozy up your home, get pictures of you're family around you. Run to Ross, TJ Maxx, or even your favorite thrift store to get some frames and print off your favorite photos from your camera roll. Better yet, print off all you're favorites and get them in a photo album for your coffee table. Trust me, you'll find yourself picking it up all the time!

Alright, this next one is a good one...ready?
Ditch those hospital white light bulbs and get nice warm toned ones. Trust me, they are SO much better! My favorites are the new vintage bulbs if your bulbs are in a lamp where they'll be seen. THESE vintage bulbs are my favorites but if you're wanting just regular ones, TRY THESE.

Last up, candles and diffusers.
Now, since I started using essential oils and cleaner products, I rarely (and I mean rarely) burn candles. I do have one candle that I LOVE and it's the Leipers Fork scent from Southern Firefly Candle Company. It's a rich sandalwood scent and it's enchanting.
For the other 99.9% of the time, I've got my favorite oil scents diffusing into the air. Spearmint, Purification, and Christmas Spirit are my favorite ones from Young Living and if you're in need of them, you can find them HERE.
Well, that's my list! What makes your house super cozy? Share with me in the comments below!

Bathroom Closet Organization Makeover on a Budget

Bathroom Closet Organization Makeover on a BudgetHello Love!
2 young girls + their own bathroom = one HUGE MESS.
Bathroom Closet Organization Makeover on a Budget
Luckily, I found these awesome baskets for organizing their linen closet. Each girlie has their own waste basket, cosmetic caddy, and plenty of extra toilet paper.

Now I won’t be embarrassed when those nosey quests come over and take a peek inside. 👀

If you're wanting to get your closets all spiffy, you can find these baskets and more at your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls. The prices ranged from $5.99 to $19.00 a basket so it was quite inexpensive to work on this project.

One of my favorite parts of this closet is our new turkish towels from Coco Loom. I originally got them to use as our pool/beach towels for the summer but the girls love the feel of them so much they've been using them as their bath towels lately. If you're in the market for high-quality towels, be sure to check them out here: https://cocoloom.co.

My Favorite Trench Coat To Wear Into Spring

Saturday, March 13, 2021

Shaw Avenue | Navy Brielle Austin Fowler Backpack
Hello Love!
If you caught my master closet makeover blog post, you know that I've been purging my closet and switching out trendy pieces for a more classic wardrobe. After researching on Pinterest, I realized that my coat collection was one that I could easy pair down. I had almost a whole row in my closet of outerwear and I was thrilled to donate most of the pile.
When it came to coats I kept 2 winter coats (one casual, one dressy), about 5 lightweight, and 2 casual raincoats. While I love the colorful raincoats I kept, I felt like I needed something a little dressier. I got on the typical websites, Nordstrom, Macy's, and JCrew, but just didn't find what I was looking for for the price I wanted to spend.
Y'all. After a google search I landed on this London Fog trench coat at Walmart.com, of all places, and for the incredible price of just $39.88. I quickly ordered the beige in XS and when it arrived two days later I went online to grab the link to share with you all and GONE. Completely sold out in every color and every size. I was able to find this exact coat at Macy's and Nordstrom but the cheapest I could find it is for $168 at Macy's. Why Walmart had it so cleap, I can't figure out. Nordys and Macy's have been running sales on it so you may be able to find it even cheaper.
If I that Walmart replenishes this one, I'll be sure to share it on my Instagram stories so make sure you're following me.
Anyways, this jacket is the perfect coat to grab this spring. It's not super lightweight and is even great for those warmer winter days. I'd say if you need a coat and it's between 40-65/70 degrees, you'd be good in this one.
