5 things that make me happy

April 28, 2020
Hello Love!
Um, 2020 is so weird. Like, really weird.
Who would have thought we’d ever be in quarantine in the year 2020. Definitely not me.
Being a full-time work-at-home mom and having 3 children at home 24/7 has by far been the most challenging thing I’ve had to go through and most days I pretty much pass out as soon as the sun goes down.
That being said, I’ve had to find ways to keep my sanity since I’m home all day and can’t venture out anywhere…AND SHOP.
Man, I miss shopping.
Anyways, here’s a few things that have been such a blessing lately.
1. Outlander
G U Y S.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram YOU KNOW that I love me some Outlander.
And I love it 👏🏻all👏🏻the👏🏻ways.
I started off watching it on TV but now I’m digging deep into the books and it’s just the thing I need to transport my mind away from my computer and all those freaking dishes in the sink.
I recently bought books 1-5 in paperback AND on my Kindle AND audiobook.
Why did I buy them in all the versions?
Because I’m a Sassenach freak, that’s why.
I got the actual books from Target and they were a great deal. I got the first 4 books in a set of 4 HERE and then each of the other 4 books separately (5, 6, 7, 8).
If you’re a reader, get the books. If you’re more of a tv gal, WATCH THE SHOWS.
I’m not going to promise you won’t fall in love with James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser.

2. My Brooke Ring inspired painting

A few weeks ago my girls and I signed up for Brooke Ring’s virtually painting class and we had a blast! Even though I chose colors that didn’t really go with my house, it makes me incredibly happy every time I look at it.
If you’re interested in taking on of her classes, she hosts a new one every month or you can purchase her previous lessons HERE.
3. Snail mail
Old fashion snail mail is one of my absolute favorite things and the past few weeks I’ve been sending lots of goodies to my team members. Surprise gifts and fun postcards to lighten their day.
4. My vertical garden tower
After my cousin Angela showed her new vertical garden HERE from GreenStalk Garden, I knew I had to have one. It hasn’t even come in yet but I’m completely giddy just thinking about it. I really got it for my 9 year old because she’s ALL about gardening right now and she’s going to love having this.
If you’re interested in starting your own use code SHAWAVENUE and you can get $10 off any tower! Grab it HEREhttp://lddy.no/gktg
Psssssst…this would make a fabulous Mother’s Day present!

5. My exercise bike
Never in my life would I EVER have thought that a piece or workout machinery would make me happy but here we are.
2020, you are weird.
I ordered this baby for my wedding anniversary present and I love it more and more each day.
PRAISE DA LORT that I got this during quarantine because there ain’t NO WAY I’d be fitting into my summer clothes if I didn’t have it.
For $150, it’s been the best thing I’ve purchased in a long time.
