How To Make A Fun Christmas Charcuterie Board With Coton Colors

How To Make A Fun Christmas Charcuterie Board With Coton Colors 1536 2048 Jenn Pennell
Hello, Love!
Let me show you how to make a fun Christmas charcuterie board!
Well, it’s Christmas Eve’s Eve. Can you believe it?!
I can’t.
020 has been one doozy of a year and even though it seems like this year has been the longest one ever, it still blows my mind that it’s almost over.
Since we had Covid a few weeks ago, the kids have been home for what seems like FOREVER. Even though I’d been sick and had many hours to catch up on, I’ve tried my best to make this week of Christmas as special as possible for them. It’s been so tough on them being in and out of school and missing their friends really badly.
As a special Christmas Eve treat, we’re getting our sugar high and celebrating the night at Santa comes. 😂
The girls and I threw together this sweet charcuterie board full of our favorite treats and snacks, everything from Little Debbie Christmas trees to chocolate-covered pretzels, to fun marshmallow snowmen for hot cocoa.
Now, it’s time to load up our cute mugs with hot cocoa, turn on the fire, find a good Christmas movie, snuggle up, and dig in!
Merry Christmas, y’all!

Thanks, Coton Colors, for working with us on this project!

Christmas Gift Wrapping Station

Christmas Gift Wrapping Station 564 750 Jenn Pennell
Hello, Love!
Are you like me and always wait to wrap everything at the last minute? I don’t know why I do that to myself every year. I always say I’m going to do it early but then every Christmas Eve I have to lock myself up in my closet to get it all done.
WHY do we do this to ourselves?
This year I decided to MAKE myself do it early. I’d always wanted a gift-wrapping station so I cleared off one our our storage cabinets and set everything up! I grabbed a few Longaberger baskets, all my wrapping supplies, and got everything I had bought, up to that point, DONE!
What a relief!
I even had the mail/package carrier presents ready to go! 💪🏻I’m still not 100% done, because I have more shopping to do but I WILL NOT wrap on Christmas Eve!
How about you? You have everything wrapped yet?

Buffalo Plaid Christmas Dishes

A special THANKS to Coton Colors for sponsoring today’s buffalo plaid Christmas dishes blog post!
Can you believe how close Christmas is?! I can’t even handle it. Nope. Can’t.
I feel like I’m a little bee busy buzzing around from here and there in the house to get ready for Christmas Day and doing everything that I can get done early, DONE! Most of my presents are wrapped, we’re headed to the grocery store today to get all the food, and all the decor is out and ready to go.
If you follow me on IG, you know that I always have my kitchen table decorated. I adore seeing my dishes set out everyday and even though it can be a burden to move them so frequently, I don’t care. 😂
I’ve never owned a set of Christmas dishes so I was SO HAPPY to team up with Coton Colors this year to get my table nice and fancy for our Christmas guests. CC has been in my life for many years and you may be familiar with their sister brand, Happy Everything.  Their famous Happy Everything plate with changeable attachments to celebrate all the holidays has been a staple piece in my kitchen for years!

Hello, Love!
Welcome to Christmas in our home. ❤️
After many years of having the same old decor up, we decided it was time for a little upgrade. We kept older trees but bought all new decorations to brighten up this crazy year. 2020 sure has been a doozy, hasn’t it?! We hope you enjoy this little tour of our front porch, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom tree.

Hello Love!
Well, Halloween is over and Christmas is quickly approaching. Hard to believe this year is close to being over, isn’t it?
I haven’t felt like decorating the whole house for the season so i just picked a few sections and concentrated on those this year. I go all out for Christmas so fall just gets touches here and there.
First up was the front porch. If you missed that post you can check out how I decorated it HERE and watch all the fun videos of putting it together on my INSTAGRAM.

The only other area I worked on was our fun Lonagberger Storage Unit by the front door. I decked it out all spooky for Halloween and then sweet and simple for fall. Since this piece is by the front door it will probably get decorated for every season so stay tuned!

Hello Love!
It’s hard to believe that Halloween is already over! We traveled up to Nashville this year to trick-or-treating with our Kenny Girl and we had the best time with her! She told us she wanted to be a dinosaur and that she wanted “Monster” (my son, Brayden) to be a dinosaur too. Unfortunately, she was TERRIFIED of his blow-up dino costume so he only got to spend about 3 minutes in it. Poor little babe,  she was so scared!
Jas and I hadn’t dressed up IN YEARS and we had a hard time finding a good couples costume at the last minute. It came between Frankenstein and his wife or Jack & Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I figured Jas wouldn’t want to wear a plastic face piece all night so Frankie and wife it was! Ang did our makeup and we got a ton of compliments on them.
RJ dressed up as her favorite TV character, Eleven from Stranger Things and Cal was a cute scarecrow.
What did you dress up as for Halloween?

How To Create A Fun Fall Front Porch

Fun Fall Front Porch How To
Hello Love!
Welcome to our fall front porch!
I had honestly debated on whether I should decorate my porch this year when I decided that we desperately needed a bit of magic and whimsey to brighten our moods. Christmas is on the way I but I really felt like we needed some cheering since 2020 has been so terribly awful. I grabbed the family and went to Lowe’s to get all the fall things we needed.
I kept our budget in mind and only bought flowers, stalks, the witch hats, and mini lights this year and pulled everything else from the attic.
Yes, those are 100% fake pumpkins. 😂 I usually buy new ones every year but instead I grabbed some paint and made these more real looking. You can find a short video HERE on how I did it.
The pillows, light-up pumpkins, giant pumpkin door piece, and the rusty Halloween buckets were all things I had in my attic and didn’t cost me any additional money.
If you’d like to see how we put this all together, head on over to my Instagram page and watch my Reels! There’s a few fun videos there to show you how it all came together.

Easy weekday taco recipe with Gorton’s Butterfly Shrimp

Easy weekday taco recipe with Gorton’s Butterfly Shrimp 150 150 Jenn Pennell

 Tonight, I cooked.

Between homework, basketball, jiu jitsu and baseball, our nights are B U S Y. Tonight I whipped up a brand new recipe, shrimp tacos using @gortonsseafood Butterfly Shrimp. These babies are a staple in our house since they’re incredibly easy to make, so we thought we’d try something new with them tonight. DUDE, they were a hit! I mean, look at the boy’s face! 😂
1-2 boxes of Gorton’s Butterfly Shrimp
Cole Slaw (pre-made or homemade)
Taco Shells
Any additional condiments you like!
Toast up a few taco shells, whip up a fresh batch of cole slaw, slice up some avacado and you’ve got a quick & easy meal. What’s your favorite Gorton’s dish?

Thanks, Gorton’s for sponsoring this post.

Learning to needlepoint with NeedlePaint

Learning to needlepoint with NeedlePaint 150 150 Jenn Pennell

Thanks to Needlepaint for sponsoring today’s post!

Hello Love!

2020 was the year we all stayed home. We all stayed home and watched TV, didn’t get out of our jammies and picked up new hobbies, right? Did you pick up a new hobby over the past year? While my family wishes I would have picked up more cooking skills, needlepointing is what stole my heart. It started popping up in my Instagram feed and with every fun design I saw, I knew I wanted to get my hands on a canvas and start punching.

Since I love Boston so much, I decided to start my needlepoint journey with this needlepoint belt from Needlepaint. I reached out to them with a few beginner questions and they were incredibly supportive and helped me get exactly what I needed. In my kit they sent me the printed canvas, threads, stitch guide and a printed color aide for guidance.

I’m so thankful they sent paperwork so I could see exactly how to do the stitches. While there’s many fun ones to try, this belt just requires a simple continental or tent stitch. Perfect for newbies like me.
Once I get the hang of it, I’ll be back to show you more!
