Isn’t coming home from the beach completely depressing?
The salty air, the cool ocean breeze, and the sounds of crashing waves just soothe my soul and I try to soak up every glorious minute of it while we’re there.
We go to Daytona Beach, FL every year and we love it.
We have secret little beaches were we go to avoid the crowds, favorite seafood restaurants where we stuff our faces full, and a hotel that we completely adore.
Alright, let’s get down to business.
Now that my kiddos are older, we no longer have to drag all kinds of sand toys and crap down to the beach. Now, I can pack my own goodies to just sit there and soak up the goodness.
1.) A good tote bag. I scored that amazing Spartina449 Mermazing tote while I was down in Daytona at a cute little gift shop. It’s made of vinyl so it was super easy to clean the sand out of everyday and had a separate pouch to hold my keys and phone to keep them sand-free. It’s almost sold out too! Find it here and here! We also carry mesh seashell bags (like these) to carry all our treasures in!
2.) I forgot my trusty Tervis at home so we picked up this adorable Florida Starbucks tumbler while shopping the Boardwalk. Y’all know i’m a sucker for flamingos…
3.) I also forgot my trusty Chaco flip flops to wear down in the sand so I had to take my pineapple Lilly Pulitzer sandals down with me. I was afraid they would be ruined after wearing them all week, but they’ve held up perfectly…I still won’t take that chance again. Don’t forget to pack some good waterproof flops!
4.) A beautiful beach towel. I scored this lovely one from BuckheadBetties and I LOVE the fabric it’s made of. And those colors? SWOON!
5.) The perfect beach cover-up. I originally bought one of those terry cloth, zip-up moo moo things but then thought, no! Just throw on a Lilly! Duh!
6.) A good book…well, this is a no brainer.
Of course, there are many other things i could tote down to the sandy beach with me but with three kiddos following along, it’s enough to get us through!
